I trained in technical drawing and spent nearly 20 years working in building services design. In 2002 I swapped the backdrop of towering office blocks in central London with the towering crags of the Langdale Pikes and moved to the south lakes area. Whilst never happier than with a pen and sketchbook, I started painting and joined the local art societies in Windermere and Ambleside in 2003. After learning to paint traditional oils and acrylics my style developed into a realistic abstract using techniques such as fracturing. My paintings are now in private collections worldwide. Influences have been varied but most notably the Scottish Colourists and Paul Klee. Quoting Klee: “Colour and I are one. I am a painter.”
